Wireless Security

Why Chose a Wireless Security System?

Wireless security has come a long way. Back in the day almost all the security systems that we installed were hardwired security systems. Why, because that was all that was offered. I can remember drilling holes for keypads, door contacts, motion detectors, and then came the siren. We used very long drill bits and ran wires to everything. Crawling in attics and crawl spaces was a must to running all the wires and often in the summertime was almost unbearable. The wireless security technology only offered large expensive devices and then batteries didn’t last very long at all. This has all changed for wireless security.

Wireless security is Smaller in Size

In today’s wireless security there are a lot of advantages. The wireless security devices are much smaller that years ago. The wireless security devices such as door contact are very attractive looking. They have a smaller profile and often times we use high-density double sided tape to attach the device to the doors. The motion detectors are the same size as hardwired motion detectors as well as glassbreak detectors. I think they look great and I have a lot of wireless security devices installed in my own home.

Battery Life

Battery Life of wireless security devices can range from 3 to 8 years without replacing. The wireless security devices have batteries that can be purchased from your local retail store. This eliminates the need for our customers to call us for a service call because they can replace the devices themselves. During our installations, we show our customers how to replace the wireless security devices if they choose to or they can call us to replace them.

Bi-Directional Transmissions

Our wireless security devices are bi-directional which means that the wireless security devices talk to the wireless alert alarm system and the wireless alert alarm system talks back to the wireless security devices. In the event a battery becomes low or the wireless security device stops working then a notification is sent to the wireless alert alarm system of the trouble condition. A hardwired device doesn’t offer this feature. Wireless security gives our customers wireless alarm total security protection.

Encryption

Our wireless security transmits with 128bit AES encryption. Because of the encryption, your devices are secure. This eliminates hackers from trying to alter signals or trying to compromise the security system. I feel very confident installing a wireless security system with these enhanced security features.

No Drilling

Wireless security doesn’t need wires which means no drilling. This is an advantage for existing homeowners. We install a lot of security system in homes that are built and occupied. I’ve never met anyone that was excited about us drilling a lot of holes in their home. Wireless security is a preferred choice over traditional hardwired security systems.

Quicker Installation Time

Because of not having to drill holes and run wires our install time of a wireless security system is greatly reduced. If you can imagine the time required to install a hardwired system by drilling a lot of holes and then having to run a wire to each device? It used to take sometimes a day or more to install a basic alarm system. With a wireless security system, the same system can be installed in a fraction of the time. Wireless security doesn’t require drilling or running wires. Just one of our installation crews can put in multiple wireless security systems in a day. Often times we can quote a security system and then install it the same day using wireless security. This means we spend less time on the install and in and out time is reduced to a minimum.

Conclusion

Wireless security, in my opinion, is a better choice than a hardwired security system. Wireless Security offers several advantages such as smaller devices, extended battery life, bi-directional communication, encryption, no drilling, and a minimum installation time. The other advantage to a wireless security system is being able to install devices in places where a hardwired device isn’t practical. With wireless security, we can protect areas not connected to the home or business. This could be a detached garage or building. If you have a storage building that isn’t attached to the home or business then wireless security is your answer. When the home or business is armed so is the storage building.
